Evidence-based Psychotherapy

Therapeutic Approaches

I use an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to meet your individual needs and goals.

Therapeutic Approaches

Integrative Care Tailored to Your Needs

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. My approach integrates multiple evidence-based modalities, tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. This allows therapy to support both immediate relief and deeper, longer-term change.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and integrate distressing experiences. Unprocessed experiences can continue to influence emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to support the brain’s natural ability to reprocess these experiences, allowing them to be stored in a more adaptive way. Clients often experience a reduction in emotional intensity and a shift toward a more balanced perspective.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a brain-body based therapy that works with deeper areas of the brain where emotional and traumatic experiences are held. By identifying specific eye positions linked to these experiences, the brain is supported in processing unresolved material. This approach is particularly useful when experiences are difficult to verbalise.

Integrative Brain-Based Therapy

This approach combines cognitive, emotional, and physiological interventions to support whole-person healing. It recognises that psychological difficulties are not only cognitive, but also involve the nervous system and body-based responses. Therapy may include elements of CBT, DBT, EMDR, and somatic awareness.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It helps identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns to support more adaptive functioning.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT supports emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. It is particularly helpful for managing intense emotions.
